Iwatani Naofumi, a run-of-the-mill otaku, finds a book in the library that summons him to another world. He is tasked with joining the sword, spear, and bow as one of the Four Cardinal Heroes and fighting the Waves of Catastrophe as the Shield Hero.
Excited by the prospect of a grand adventure, Naofumi sets off with his party. However, merely a few days later, he is betrayed and loses all his money, dignity, and respect. Unable to trust anyone anymore, he employs a slave named Raphtalia and takes on the Waves and the world.

Next couple seasons about to be painful for us Raphtalia fans lol our girl deserves better honestly, Atla is cool now, really don’t understand how she’s become so powerful, I feel they were trying to make Atla Raphtalia’s replacement cause now Noafumi seems to put all his attention to Atla when the whole mission was to save Filo, Noafumi tends to forget the people who has been there for him day 1 and saved him from his loneliness.
Also it should’ve been Fohl who caught and reassured Atla, not Naofumi, Filo (someone who is a daughter to him) nearly just died and he focused all his attention on Atla… I am trying to prepare myself 😭
This minute and thirty seconds alone redeems all of the flaws in season 2 and season 3.
This whole fight went so hard and I'm super stoked for season 4!

Aside from the difference between the colors and species, both Raphtalia🦝 and Atla🐯 look alike.

I honestly was hoping that the Shield Hero anime would get better power-ups and cooler fight scenes, now he just makes his furriers ( that are little girls) fight for him.
