If you like the ending for this series I highly recommend the anime. It is peak. What they kind of hint at with the ending is the live in "New York" but it is a fantastical version that runs parallel with another world. They call it Hell Salems Lot. It is surrounded by fog. The themes and the characters are actually pretty damn good. The nostalgia is real for me.
Watching this brings back memories of watching parody versions of this ending most notably the Naruto version
