Would it be an exaggeration to say this could be one of the greatest fighting sequences in Anime 2023/24? Honestly, the only thing I feel "wrong" with it, is it's length. It wasn't very long.

Solo leveling be like "Aura farming durrrrr 🤪" nothing compares to Fern's Aura.
I think what I love the most about this scene is the avoidance of fan service. Fern is forced to do this fight essentially in her underwear, as her outer garment was contaminated. She's also known for being fairly well endowed. However, her chamise here is perfectly modest, the author and the fight designer didn't allow her state of undress to distract from the real narrative here, her skill and control, her battle prowess, how she reached the peak capacity of the demon killing machine Frieren molded her into. The costume design doesn't distract from the story and the mission, which is just so unusual in anime. Beautiful.

Rewatching this now I undertsand why Fern chooses the magic to clean clothes. She still remembers the blood track on her own tunic.

The craziest part about this whole fight is that we are witnessing it in slow motion. If you put it to 2x speed, it still looks like it’s slowed down. That’s how insanely fast Fern is. It’s wild. Her reaction speed probably rivals an F1 driver.

Fern is essentially the mage equivalent of a gunslinger: Very focused on simple actions at the highest speed, accuracy, and efficacy. She is basically Doc Holliday with a staff. While other mages specialize in using/supplementing a form of weapon or technique, with their parries, blocks, feints, ripostes, nuance, etc., Fern is using the fundamentals at the greatest speed, efficiency, and efficacy possible, mastering the magical equivalent of a quickdraw/hip-fire; that is what makes her so dangerous compared to other mages.
Frieren basically turned a person into an AC130 Specter gunship.
