Sakuta Azusagawa is attending his third and last term as a second-year high school student. There are only a few days left to spend together at Minegahara High School with Mai Sakurajima, a third-year student and Sakuta’s girlfriend. Meanwhile, his younger sister Kaede, who has loved her house for many years, reveals a secret to Sakuta that she has never shared with anyone.
“I want to go to big brother’s school.”
This is a big decision for Kaede.
Although Sakuta knows this is a difficult decision for her, he decides to gently support her.
Little Kaede’s feelings are entrusted to Kaede. This is a story about these two as they take a step into the future.

I cried reading this book, now to watch it will probably make me cry even more. I cant wait.
For someone who has watched the original series plus first movie like 6 or 7 times, also its my fav of the genre, I must say… Odekake sister is purely a "covid home schooling acceptance" story. Its all about kaede having lost a lot of her intellectual capacity by not studying for years, and her acceptting something "worse" than main school, in this case, remote school. It definitely not lost the "bunny girl senpai" vibes but the story is totally missable and not an "emotional rollercoaster" like the anime and 1st movie were. I wish I had not watched odekake sister, gives me the feel that "one day or another, the big publishers will definitely wreck your favourite anime apart". All I can do is hope is the third movie isn't total cr*p like odekake sister was. Honest opinion, if you watch bunny girl senpai for the drama and life lessons, skip odekake sister. You'll be definitely disappointed watching this homeschooling propaganda. Its very obviously not aimed at ocidental audience anyways.

It hurts me to know that this Kaede is not the one we met during the anime. They may tell me anything but I prefer Kaede to Hana Kaede.

1:06 This is such a cool detail, here OG Kaede is eating with her left hand, and then we see Panda Kaede eating with her right hand in the next scene but with the same happy expression, showing that despite the difference between them they are in the end part of the same person.
It does make me wonder if the panda Kaede would actually make an appearance, instead of just appearing in flashbacks.

Eh, it was alright. Dreaming Girl dances CIRCLES around this and Knapsack Kid though. Frankly I was expecting a little bit more. I liked Venturing Out, but even her arc in the actual show felt stronger.
