Season 1, whatever episode it is, at the after mass of Anya's finisher punch on Damian, she tried to apologize. ( Which ended in her crying, making Damian get confused of why he feels somewhat silly, tingy or different when Anya is like that, in front of him.) He literally said "Curse you, like hell I'd admit it!" Out loud. Before that he also said in his mind, "she's just an ugly commoner and yet………. no that would be embarrassing!" Meaning he had already figured ut out, though not so clear. I think he already knows what was happening to him, hence why he's so prideful and arrogant to try and keep that feeling away from everyone or Anya herself.
