Iwatani Naofumi, a run-of-the-mill otaku, finds a book in the library that summons him to another world. He is tasked with joining the sword, spear, and bow as one of the Four Cardinal Heroes and fighting the Waves of Catastrophe as the Shield Hero.
Excited by the prospect of a grand adventure, Naofumi sets off with his party. However, merely a few days later, he is betrayed and loses all his money, dignity, and respect. Unable to trust anyone anymore, he employs a slave named Raphtalia and takes on the Waves and the world.
But will he really find a way to overturn this desperate situation?

ive kind of lost the plot. How did a nation in another continent already have ninjas on standby to attack raftalia when she wore a dress that resembled coincidentally a nation's royalty once? This fact alone is really annoying me
The way Naofumi is treated in Silvelt compared to Melromark is like day and night. It really makes you realize that he was essentially summoned into enemy territory.

I would never trust people who want to worship me as a god. Mostly because they are worshipping the THOUGHT of me, not me standing in front of them to whom they know nothing about. And that means its only a matter of time before they decide I'd be better off getting roasted on a spit Jack Sparrow style in his second movie because I don't conform to the god they believe I should be.

I wonder how different things would have been if Itsuli, Ren, or Motoyasu had gotten summoned to Siltvelt instead. We know each country was supposed to get one hero but assuming the summoning didn’t get Siltvel Naofumi in the first place I wonder what they would have done.

Why am I not surprised? Melromark and Silvelt are cut from the same cloth. They may have different beliefs but both nations are just pulling the heroes' strings. Remember how the first season started and ended? If Silvelt summoned the four heroes instead of Melromark then the results would be the same.
