Crazy theory I know, but that if X is a proxy or something of Fate itself? Literally redefining everyone’s stories. And we do hear him snap in episode two that changes the art style. In a trailer it was said that Fate is moving them all around like chess pieces. And in the intro, we see him playing with chess pieces. He is an omnipotent being that is watching their stories unfold as Fate itself.
